Oz has been lately showing its warmth towards Bitcoins, and there had been inner discussions about the possible favourable regulations. However, in the latest reports circulated by the local Australian media, Brisbane Airport (BNE) is all set to become the first airport terminal that will support the cryptocurrency. The airport is at present in working mode to set all local and global companies to develop the entire terminal as cryptocurrency friendly with all the stores, shops and restaurants to accept payments in Bitcoin, Ether and Dash.

Lately, the count of crypto-investors have increased in the country, and this move aims to target them. The General Manager of Strategic Planning and Development, Roel Hellemons mentions that
“Many people around the world have made money investing in cryptocurrencies and a lot of these people travel internationally, so it makes sense to offer a digital currency experience within our terminals.”
The airport authorities have announced that the airport will partner with TravelbyBit, which is a cryptocurrency payment system that allows travellers the facility to purchase and buy digitally.
This move highlights Australia’s growing affection toward cryptocurrencies and digital payment methods. The country has set in a favourable image for the digital assets as other regulators around the globe have built-in negative perspectives. It will be interesting to see these developments in the cryptocurrency world as the recent mining ban by China and the threats of possible cryptocurrency exchange from South Korea creates a situation of fear and uncertainty towards virtual currency investments. The openness of Australia and framing a friendly policy is definitely a welcome change for crypto investors as the market was fluctuating a lot owing to the above-mentioned intimidations.
