Malicious Emails Sent To Paypal Users With a "Cryptocurrency Warning"

On 16th of March this year malicious emails were sent to Paypal Users, telling users that trading or transfer of crypto currency is prohibited under Paypal’s Acceptable Use Policy.

These Emails turned out to be a sham, although they looked original. The company’s customer care officials have also confirmed to the users that the emails were not genuine.

Paypal has not yet given any official statement regarding the hack and is still investigating on the matter as the implications of the email are far more intricate and potentially worrying.

There are suspicions that the email could be indirectly related to an attempt to manoeuvre prices of Bitcoin.
